dgorton commentedYes - we do plan on using this module in D7. What exactly it will look like, however, is open. Fields in core change a lot of the landscape and ronan hasn't made any final decisions yet. We'll certainly need to have the functionality of Node Hierarchy in D7, however, so - yes - a D7 version is planned.

markhalliwellI haven't even touched D7 yet, but I would more than be interested in helping in anyway I can. I do think we need to focus on getting a stable 6.x-2.0 release before we as a team can commit to anything this major though.

skwashd commentedI'm happy to work on this as part of my buy a line project - http://buyaline.drupalgardens.com
Comment #22
dgorton commentedThanks skwashd!
For an official update, we've been very hectic with other work and that isn't going to change for a while - certainly not before Drupalcon Chicago. Dave / skwashd is interested in taking the Drupalbus (http://groups.drupal.org/node/120989) to Chicago and it turns out that both ronan and I will be on the bus as well (two of the module maintainers). I know not everyone is a coder out there, but if you are able to help support skwashed at http://buyaline.drupalgardens.com -- we can roll out a D7 version on the bus. Donating to Dave is a great, concrete way to help push this forward, get a D7 version of the module on a concrete date, bring a good member of the community to Drupalcon and do your good deed for the day - all in one!
And - along that same line, consider this an open invitation to join us on the bus; anyone else interested in pushing Node Hierarchy forward is most welcome to meet us in Minneapolis and code our way to Chicago!

markhalliwellHello All,
At the moment, the D7 version is taking much longer than anticipated. As far as I know, there is no scheduled release date, but Ronan and Drew are working furiously to get this up and going. We appreciate everyone's patience!

cfennell commentedIt turns out I could use this module for a D7 project on which I'm currently working. If there were a public git repo with the existing D7 code, I'd be happy to help out where I could. Maybe we could put together a TC Drupalcamp code/test/beer sprint or something?

Thanks for the offer. The base module is mostly ported and up in the 7.x branch of the d.o git repo. Still do do is much testing and clean up and the views integration and autocomlpete widget. Oh, and probably tokens.
I'm supposed to be working on it this week some time, but my schedule keeps getting away from me. If you do start working on something let me know so we're not covering the same ground.

cfennell commented@ronan Excellent! I'll see if I can make some time to test/write tests/whatever I can over the weekend.
ronan commented@cfennell Nice. Testing would be welcomed. Tests even more so :)
I ported the basic views integration and embedding this afternoon so now what remains is:
- Token integration (for pathauto)
- Autocomplete widget
- Menu edit form override
- The stuff I forgot
- Stuff I remembered but did wrong
Comment #61
cfennell commented@ronan Rock. I've gotten as far as installing the main module and testing a few things (that worked), now I can put views on the test list - yay!
ronan commentedI got to spend most of today working on it (thanks to Gorton Studios for funding that time).
All the stuff I could find is ported. It's pretty minimally tested so there are sure to be lots of bugs or things I missed. It is not ready for production use, but testing would be great. I don't seem to be able to create a dev release, so I'll try again later and if I still can't I'll file a ticket with the infrastructure team. If anybody knows what I did wrong (it's one of my first dev releases under git) let me know.
If anybody finds bugs please report them in separate tickets.
Thanks
Ronan
