I was planning on getting Blog API updated for Drupal 7 in contrib and adding some new features. Unfortunately, I am in the middle of a huge project for my day job, and I'm concerned that I may not be able to spend time on Blog API before Drupal 7 is released....whenever that happens.
Anyways, I'm looking for somebody that is interested in being a comaintainer for Blog API.
If interested, please reply and we'll talk.

damienmckennaI'd like to help. I think it also makes sense to merge in the BlogAPI Improved module I'd started and basically work on them simultaneously. What do you think?
cweagansI agree. BlogAPI improved and BlogAPI shouldn't be separate projects for 7.x. You're a pretty well known contributor, so I'll just go ahead and add you as a maintainer.

damienmckennaBased on some feedback from the webmasters group I'm going to keep BlogAPI Improved as a D6-only project for backported improvements from BlogAPI proper. So now all that's needed is project access *hint* *hint* ;-)

voxpelli commentedAny thoughts on utilizing Services for the Blog API:s? That could perhaps take some burden away from this module since it would avoid having you duplicating the transport mechanisms etc so that you can spend all your time on what makes the Blog API:s special. It would also contribute into ensuring that the Services project is able to support any kind of API:s.

damienmckenna@voxpelli: That'd be a great idea, for v2. For v1 I'd just like to get something that at least kinda-sorta works.

cweagansThat's kind of where I'm at, too. BlogAPI for D7 needs to be a straight port from Drupal 6, perhaps with some minor architectural improvements and bug fixes. Services is something that's been talked about for a while (ilo and I had this conversation a few months ago) and it's something we want to do. Just not right now :)
