It would be nice to have a title field next to the file name that you could use in the theme. For instance, instead of seeing a link to "parking-map.pdf," the user would see "Download parking map."

robomalo commentedI understand how it works now -- under 'description.' I thought that was just for the file name. Silly me. I just had to learn the UI.

dncreative commentedCan someone please clarify what needs to be done for this? What does "under description" mean? I've tried creating a relationship with the filefield - but that doesn't seem to work either. There must be a way to view the title or description text (i.e., "Download Parking Map") instead of the filename ("parking-map.pdf,"). Any information you can provide is much appreciated.

stefanhapper commentedJust in case others wonder also how to activate the "description" (file title) field: it is in the field settings for the filefield under global settings. By default it is not enabled.
