Anonymous (not verified) commentedI have my screen set @1024x768 and it's a bit too small in a 19 inches screen. However, the trouble is not that but that the tables at the localization server (for example) do not word-wrap. So they get half cut if I resize the font-size.
So, is the design liquid-enough? (at least in tables: <table class="l10n-table sticky-enabled"> )
I would like/need to resize my fonts without the page getting unusable...
Gustavo, from Madrid

gábor hojtsy@thamas: Agreed. I'm using my browser zoom feature to make it more useful.
@gusgsm1: I'd suggest using an actual page zoom-capable browser for now (IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc). Ie. don't just zoom the text, also zoom in the page in itself. Since in a 10x768 with a 19inch screen, the current design will not fill in the whole width of the page, that should be a better option.

Anonymous (not verified) commentedHi, Gabor
I am using Chrome and Firefox and I am zooming the page (Windows mouse wheel ), everything goes bigger and smaller, as Alice would say. Not sure if I do follow you.
Besides, Drupal current design does get reflowed. Drupal localization server (the redesigned option), does not.

laura s commentedI agree that the content area font could be bumped up a point. This is especially true for pages with no sidebar, because right now pages like http://localize.drupal.org/news and http://localize.drupal.org/faq have lines that are way longer than the 8-12 word ideal for legibility.
Requiring a Firefox plugin kludge does not seem to be an answer.
gábor hojtsy@gusgsm1: the reason for it not reflowing is that the new design is fixed width, while the old drupal.org was fluid; this is how the current theme was designed for various reasons.
@lauras: ha! I did not suggest requiring a firefox plugin I was trying to point to an immediate solution while the themers work out how to solve this best; the style guide sets the current font size as 12px: https://infrastructure.drupal.org/drupal.org-style-guide/typography.html; so while I could change this in a minute on the l.d.o server, this really needs a system-wide agreement that we are fine bumping the size on all subsites
I hope that others will see this similarly to like how we do, that its too small for a "working environment" like l.d.o or the drupal.org project maintenance screens, so its better bumped up. I tried to make the project managers around drupal.org's redesign aware of this issue personally.

droplet commentedthe demo font color is #222222
https://infrastructure.drupal.org/drupal.org-style-guide/prototype/homep...
live test is #333333 (lighter)
guideline: color: #333333
We look at DEMO and think about the design, while it do not match the guideline. will get different results.
lighter & darker font color affect our feeling.
also Mac OS & Windows are different.
checkout attachment. (sorry. I capture it from web, not so clear)

gpk commentedAgree that the font size is too small. To make it readable I have to CTRL + a few times and then, because it's a fixed width design, I get horizontal scollbars and lines of text a mile (kilometer?) long..
xmacinfoIs the theme available somewhere which would let us submit patch? The more we will use the new design, the more we will need to make adjustments.
Font size is not really an issue, but please don't make it too small. ;-)
The big issue is that the theme is not liquid making a lot of content overlap.
See this issue:
#844532: Code cutoff by sidebar
Comment #10
andypost+1 to change font face and size
code should be more readable!!!
marcvangendI totally agree. On http://api.scratch.drupal.org/, the normal font is smallish, but code is a disaster with a size of only 8.18333px (says Firebug).
webchickThe code font size on http://api.scratch.drupal.org/ makes my eyes burn. I wonder if we should pull that into a separate issue though, since it's not really related to overall theme's font size (unless it is... but I don't recall seeing any mocks with code on them).
webchickOh. I see someone already did. :) #844642: New theme makes doc unreadable
Comment #14
gábor hojtsyCarrying over major level from #844642: New theme makes doc unreadable although this might even be critical (AKA release blocker).

michelleThe font was bumped up slightly in #509050: Reconsider base font size (PLEASE!) though I think it's still a bit too small.
Another issue is the font family. That was addressed in #912936: Change font family but that was marked dupe of the font size one and the font family was never addressed.
This issue is about size, which is a dupe of #509050: Reconsider base font size (PLEASE!) but is the only still active issue I found.
Can we talk about the font family here? Or should this be marked dupe and #912936: Change font family re-opened?
Michelle
Comment #16
gábor hojtsyI think this is a duplicate of #509050: Reconsider base font size (PLEASE!), and only covers the size. Feel free to reopen #912936: Change font family, which looks to be also about the font.
