I'm actually not sure what's really going on, but here's the sequence of events:

1) I activate Mobile Tools and get my client's website successfully mobilized. Yay!
2) Google Analytics immediately stops reporting hits from iPhone, Android, Blackberry and all other mobile operating systems

I'm not sure what's happening but it's pretty vital that we track mobile users. I tried setting up a second Analytics account to track users at m.mysite.com (the default profile is aimed at www.mysite.com) but it didn't pick up any users either.

Anyone have any ideas how how to deal with this?

So I checked back into my Analytics and it IS picking up hits now. However, I can't sort out visitors by operating system (Palm, Blackberry, Android, iPhone, etc.) or by Device (iPhone, Samsung, Droid, etc etc) -- there are NO mobile devices, and all operating systems are either "Windows" or "Macintosh". When I compare that to my non-mobile stats (i.e. those who end up at www.mysite.com), I see that those hits are coming in -- i.e. we're definitely getting mobile visitors -- but the identifying data associated with those visitors is stripped out in a way that keeps Analytics from knowing O/S or device information.

EDIT: Upon further review, it's apparent that my Analytics account that's supposed to be picking up hits only from m.mysite.com is actually just picking up ALL the site hits. This is certainly just my own misunderstanding of how Analytics works. However, it's vital to us that we be able to sort out mobile users. Does anyone have any ideas on how to load a separate Analytics code for the m.mysite.com pages?

The 1.x branch of Mobile Tools is currently out of date and unsupported.

Please upgrade to the latest version of Mobile Tools and see if your issue persists. If it does, you may reopen this issue or file a new one.
