We would like to create a Poker Training site like www.deucescracked.com or www.pokerstrategy.com and www.rakebrain.com.
Essentially we want a timetable such as http://www.pokerstrategy.com/coaching/ and a video section like here http://www.deucescracked.com/videos as well
as integrate a phpbb3 forum (or vbulletin etc. if easier/better).
We started to use Typo3 as a CMS and employed a cheap programmer from Rent A coder and in 2 months he produced www.takemorerake.com but it doesn't even offer user registration and the template isn't properly integrated and we are looking to start from scratch again perhaps using a new CMS.
Me and my partner are both geeks, have studied Computer science and can both do basic programming (he can php program I can java program), but our aim is to get a programmer to do the most of the work, and occasionally play around, edit or add some things ourselves when appropriate.
Would drupal be a viable option for this type of website ? We have spoken to one programmer who uses a German MaxCMS which is meant to be very "bare-bone" and require a lot of php programming from scratch, but he said the advantage is that almost any other programmer who can program in PHP should be able to use it.
What do people recommend ?

Are you sure about poker training site?
There is a big competition for poker video sites. They have thousands of videos and the guys who playing highstakes.. Where will you get high quality video material?
