The only thing I have done (that I recall) since sept, 2009 on my site was try to add extlink recently. I couldn't get it to work so unactivated it. and now...

none of my fieldsets are collapsible and default to expanded, including the avail tokens fields which is very annoying.

my sortable columns in views are no longer sortable. If I look at my view page all the sections show up on one page instead of being able to switch between sections.

Perhaps this isn't due to ext-links but it's where i'm starting as it was the only thing since sept 2009. what do these have in common? is it a jscript?

The problem you're experiencing is because there is a JavaScript error on the page. Extlink could be causing this, but it's likely a conflict between modules on your site, since Extlink doesn't cause any errors that I'm aware of.
