Hi,
I'm running the current 6.17 and have performed all of the updates required for my site. All seems o.k. except the recent security update cck 2.6 to 2.7. Even though I've performed maybe a dozen different attempts using every scenario that I can think of, I can't clear the error message:
Content Construction Kit (CCK) 6.x-2.6Security update: 6.x-2.7 (2010-Jun-16) DownloadRelease notes
Also available: 6.x-3.x-dev (2010-Jun-18) DownloadRelease notes
Basically, even though cck 2.7 is installed, it seems to think that it is 2.6, and so generates an security warning.
This is the interesting thing. I've made the same update on my Vista IIS 7 development box, and it works fine. It is only on my paid host, IX hosting with a Linux service, that I have the problem. I've even tried to upload my local files and perform a database restore to the working version, and I still get the same problem.
Can't think of anything else to try and I could use some suggestions. Thanks

cog.rusty commentedMake sure that you don't have a backup copy of the old version anywhere that Drupal looks for modules.

robatk commentedThanks, but I'm clear of old files.

robatk commentedI took a second look and found another CCK file that I must of stuck in another mod by mistake. That fixed the problem. You saved me, even if I'm a little slow. Thanks.
