helps a bit with checkouts on client sites.

i'll be looking into this module a bit more in the next 48 hours and will have some more input then.

I'm just about ready to do this. I have been working on improvements and they involve major changes, so I was holding off so I don't break anything currently in production. I think I will branch the existing module off as 4.7 and put the changes into cvs.
