A little update on this.. The features integration is written for another project (by a colleague) and will be included in Hansel soon.

Features integration is added to 7.x-1.x.

Dev release will be available within 12 hours and this feature will be included in the coming release (1.4).

I have no plans to backport this functionality to D6, but if there is demand for it, let me know.
