how does the IP to Country module work and how exactly does it support other modules?

Is it possible to see some documentation that explains how it works?

I've spent a big part of the day wondering how it supports other modules.....can you help?

I 've already tried looking around howforge.com for quite a while and couldn't find any basic information that explains how the module works and how it interacts with other Drupal modules.

Any guidance appreciated..
