Is there a way to have only the controls for the audio player? I have tried to set the flash vars for
$params['controlbaronly']='true';
$params['skin']='audiopro';

and then the player doesn't show up anymore. It only shows a grey bar with 100% over it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The audio pro skin was not designed to be control bar only. If you would like this, you will need to modify the skin.fla file and remove the components that you do not wish to have, or you can just hire my company Alethia Inc. to do it for you. ;)
