This bug has been driving me crazy and I've finally narrowed the culprit down to Admin Menu. It only does this when Admin Menu is active, it disappears when Admin Menu is not active. I've seen this on a couple of sites. What happens is image sprites disappear on mouseover. I'll have an image sprite serving as a main navigation and on rollover, the image disappears. Firebug shows no problem at all, but it's gone from the display. Once their gone, getting them back typically requires restarting the browser. It only seems to happen on the home page. I've been over this for quite a while and I can't find anything in my code that could be causing this.

It only does this in Firefox. If I log out, or log in as someone without Admin Menu permission. The problem does not appear.

I can't give you a login to the site under developement, but if you want to see it in action, let me know and I'll create a test copy of the site for you.

Yes, I've been battling the same thing and have come the same conclusion. But not a ghost of a solution. If anyone finds a solution to this, I would love to hear it.

I'm not able to replicate this issue. Please make sure you also test whether this issue still exists when using the latest versions/development snapshots of affected modules. If that does not help, then also try to temporarily disable potentially conflicting modules that may interfere with this functionality.
