I am making changes to my style.css file and the theme is not recognizing it. Any helpon this would be appreciated.

1) Try a hard refresh (Hold CTRL and hit F5)
2) Try clearing the cache

Normally a simple refresh should reflect the changes, however.

Are you sure you're editing the right css file? Try making some extreme changes to see if you're editing the right file. Try changing the h1 class to fontsize 48 or something. If you aren't getting any response, you're probably not editing the right file! (wrong theme maybe?)
