Microformats are an important general syntax for indieweb specifications like h-card, h-entry and webmentions. By leveraging microformats and other PHP libraries already available, it should be possible to implement many of these formats in Drupal with minimal code duplication.
Microformats module for Drupal 8 incorporates indieweb/php-mf2 3.0+ PHP library.
