Opera in windows is doing fine...
What are we going to do with this edge case?

Here is a small patch to fix the problem. Please review.

#903460: Bartik Tabs broken in Firefox may fix this issue, I could re-roll that patch so you can test it, I'd much rather a big patch like that goes in rather than these one liners which cause everything to be re-rolled.

Broken display is never minor - setting back to normal.

This bug is about one pixel off and it's different than the bug you pointed to. Beside having a trivial patch like this is more likely to get accepted than refactoring the tabs code, I believe. In all cases, please re-roll your patch and let's test it.

Problem no longer happens with Opera 10.61 on Linux, on same URL: http://bartik.labs.treehouseagency.com/ , so it seems this patch is no longer needed. Maybe it was a bug in Presto, not Bartik;

OK, thanks for the heads up - I think we can close this. Please open again if a problem persists.

FYI I have updated the patch at #903460: Bartik Tabs broken in Firefox

I am using Opera 10.62 and the bug is still there in that same site and on a local site. I would re-open the bug and check Jeff Burnz patch for the other bug ...

The other patch changes the technique used to theme the main menu tabs and this patch will only be a band-aid - we need to fix the root of the problems. Please test the other patch and report your findings there - that is the way forward.

I am postponing this until after #903460: Bartik Tabs broken in Firefox gets in, if there's still a problem we can look at this again.

I did further testing:

- Lucid + Opera "10.60 internal": the bug is there,
- Karmic + Opera 10.61, bug not there
- Lucid + Opera 10.62: bug there

@fgm: please test the last patch (13) in #903460: Bartik Tabs broken in Firefox

@munzirtaha: does not change anything. Same issue.

I very much doubt it is related with #903460, though, especially since I am not using a RTL language, and the problem is vertical spacing, not horizontal.

One more test, still on http://bartik.labs.treehouseagency.com/

- Maverick + Opera 10.63: bug there

Also, maybe more significantly, there is a lime-to-purple color gradient at that URL in Chrome and FF, but not in Opera where the header is full purple. This is actually much more visible than the 1-pixel issue, but I suspect it must have been noticed in another issue.

Jeff Burnz’s picture

Can you check again, there was a change to how core handles ul.links and a new patch for Bartik went in (it created a 1px problem for linux FF), if the header is a solid color then the browser likely does not support CSS gradients.

fgm’s picture

No change, at least on http://bartik.labs.treehouseagency.com/ : pixel still there.

I checked and Opera is indeed reported as not supporting CSS gradients in 10.x versions.

Setting this to minor in an effort to get some differentiation in the Bartik issue queue. (Having almost everything marked as normal makes Priority useless.)

Since there is a patch, the status should be Needs review.

I downloaded a newest Opera browser and opened Drupal 7.100 clean install on simplytest.me. I do not see this 1px offset on Bartik theme. I would say this is probably resolved after 13 years. Feel free to reopen if this is still an issue. Thanks!
