I have quite a few sites running the 2.x branch of Pathauto (according to the stats, there are currently ≈10,000 sites running 2.x-dev).
It would be very beneficial to to us sysadmins if you could make an alpha release, preferably prior to the introduction of #825976: Call to undefined function token_get_invalid_tokens_by_context().
I know I am in no position to demand anything from the Pathauto maintainers, but since I need some of the changes introduced in 2.x (mainly transliteration integration) on almost all the sites I work with, I am more or less forced to use the latest -dev release, not knowing what’s changed since last I worked with it. When making Drupal install profiles, this element of unpredictability is troubling.
You don’t need to put it on the project page or advertise it in any way, but it would be awesome to be able to run `drush dl pathauto-2.0-alpha1` and know that you’re going to the same thing as last time you ran that command.

Freso commentedHi Mikkel. I can make an alpha release of the current state of the branch right here and now, if that's alright with you. If you need one pre-#825976: Call to undefined function token_get_invalid_tokens_by_context(), you'll have to wait a while, as that may require some more work.

dave reidGive me a little bit before rolling that. Ideally I'd like to roll another 7.x release and tag the 6.x-2.x with the same version since those two branches are meant to be kept in sync.
Freso commentedMy plan was actually to tag 7.x at the same time, precisely to keep them sync'ed. :)

gregglesI think we should do it from the tip of 6.x-2.x instead of the point mikkel describes. IMO The solution to that token problem is a new token release.

miklI’m all for making your jobs easier, so if it means waiting a bit longer to have a more solid release (perhaps coinciding with a new release of token, as per #4), then so be it. Thanks for the hard work that you have been putting into Pathauto over the years :)

dave reidI'd love to get a new release once #201151: Use batch API to perform path alias bulk updates is in. Can anyone help review the patch there?
dave reidSorry for the delay on this. Release will happen this week come hell or high water.
dave reidWe could use some help testing tonight or tomorrow. Please see http://groups.drupal.org/node/85954.
Marking as fixed since this release will happen this week. :)
