Please add Sinhala language to localize.drupal.org (I did check at http://bit.ly/9xdtL that there is no existing issue for this language)
Sinhala language needs a special Unicode system to render.(which has already built).

gábor hojtsyDrupal uses Unicode, so that should be all right? Do you know of any existing effort? Do you have partners to work with to complete the translation?
gábor hojtsyLooks like requester lost interest. Localize.drupal.org would welcome an active team to take this on.

ayesh commentedHi Gabor,
I'm still interested in the sinhalese localization...!!!
Sinhala unicodes are available to download for free, and most sinhala readers uses it. Firefox, Opera, IE and most leading browsers supports Sinhala Unicode.

Nightwish commentedI am wondering what happened to this suggestion. Awaiting to see Drupal in Sinhala.
ayesh commentedActually I was completely hopeless that l.d.o admin postponed this. I agree that I couldn't reply to an update for 2 weeks.
Now, I'm available almost entire day. So I invite others to come and translate this.
Joomla already has a translation. So we should start (I don't say we should work against joomla).

ayesh commentedAlso, I can manage to get 5 people atleast for this.
I hope 'NightWish' will join too as he can speak Sinhala.

avpaderno@Ayesh: See the questions you are being asked in the first comment.
ayesh commentedDoes Sinhala has unicodes ?
- Yes, they are already available to download. Also, most people in Sri Lanka use it.
I have created some POs for Sinhala. May I add them ? Currently some charactors aren't visible due to some reason that I couldn't figure out.
Yes I have a set of people to do this(personally known)

gábor hojtsyAll right, sorry for making you wait. I've created the team at http://localize.drupal.org/languages/si and made @Ayesh the initial owner / admin. You can add any number of other admins and manage group level permissions of people.
I've used this plural formula: nplurals=2; plural=(n != 1) which I got from http://translate.sourceforge.net/wiki/l10n/pluralforms#s. Please follow up ASAP if this is not the right formula.
Please report issues as you find them! Your team members can now join and help import existing translations and work on more translations. Anybody can sign up for being a member of the team and they will be able to submit suggestions right away. The initial admin can change permissions of people signing up, widening their capabilities. See http://localize.drupal.org/node/616 for explanation on how. It is highly suggested to grant both moderation permissions to those who you also designate admins.
Welcome on board!

Nightwish commentedWe need to have a conversation and I would like to have an Idiots Guide to Translating English to Sinhala.
Is there any possibility of using "Singlish". I have encountered massive problems to export content written in Singlish to any other program like M$ Word and Photoshop.
