If I click on a menulink that opens a panel page, the breadcrumb does not show the correct path.
Breadcrumb does work if I open a Node.

You might want to consider http://drupal.org/project/menu_breadcrumb I think it should do just what you want and plays very well with power menu. Let me know if this fixed your issue.

btw: no need to assign this task to you, unless you are going to fix it ;)
