Allowed Book pages not showing allowed child pages [#847866]

Hello-

We are creating a knowledge base for clients using the book module, and using Content Access to control access to book pages. The problem we're seeing is, when we allow access for a client to a certain page and all child pages, the child pages do not show up below the current book page. So, the client would need to know/bookmark every book page they're allowed to see, instead of just one book page and then navigate the child pages list.

Are we doing something wrong, or is this a bug? I thought I would ask before digging into code. I've already search the Issues for 'book' and 'child' with no luck.

Just to clarify — you've granted access to each child page (not just to the parent page) and the client does have access to the child pages (when typing in the URL), but the links to the child pages are missing on the parent page, right?

This could be a caching problem. Try clearing the cache and then visit the parent page using your client account.

Hi Salvis, thanks for the reply. You are correct in your assumptions. Unfortunately I've tried clearing the cache, and have had no luck.

What has worked though is moving the client's book page up to it's own book. Now, everything works correctly and is viewable by the client. I'm not sure if there is any difference at all in how permissions are treated at the book level compared to the page level. I would assume it works the same. I'm a bit befuddled why this is happening...

If anyone has other ideas on what to try, or would like more info on what I've already tried, lay it on me.
