Using Auto Menu in combination with Menu Force module causes some confusion when using the node type settings (/admin/content/node-type/node_type_name). Auto Menu adds it's menu settings to 'Workflow' while Menu Force creates it's own fieldset. Join forces and use the same fieldset for all menu related settings. See screenshot in cross post.

I agree. I'm now working on quite some improvements of the automenu module and will do the same as what is suggested in #873082: Move CTM settings to the Menu Settings fieldset. So if the other two modules do so as well, it should be OK.

Expect the updated automenu module to be available tomorrow.
