Make content categories accessible via machine name

I'm wondering why content is still not accessible via it's machine name?

For example we create new content category "Article" with it's machine name "article", but why not to make it so, that request to http://www.yoursite.com/article/ will show you all articles?

In my view it's a good feature avoid using some modules like views or other to keep system lightweight.
