» Deprecate this module in favor of Security Review?
As this module appears to have no release, and is dated from 2005, I think it can be retired.
I'll flag the project as unmaintained, we should drop it off the module list and search results
Would have appreciated it if you've contacted me first, before taking such an action.
Security review came after this module. I'll revise the goal and setup of this module and implement a proof of concept here.
I've put status on this module back (to as minimal as possible).
Perhaps d.o. should consider some 'module status tags' to categorize projects in the waiting room. That way they can be excluded better from search results, and still 'live' here awaiting to be develloped.
Interesting to hear that you may have some traction to apply to this.
I'm sure you can see why 'unmaintained' is a flag that would seem to apply to a project with no recent activity and no release since it was set up 6 years ago.
However, since the git migration, there IS now a category for individual project development that is not ready for prime-time. The 'sandbox' mode. I'm not sure exactly what, but the 3,000 new module projects added since the change-over don't seem to be messing up the search results -yet development and project management features are available to them. Does that sound like the status flag you are looking for for this module?

greggles@VinceW - can you provide an example of the Security Information Report (SIR) that you hope this module will create?
It's now 2 years since the module was created and there's no code except http://drupalcode.org/project/security.git/blob/refs/heads/6.x-1.x:/secu... which will actually break other modules such as the security_review module which has variables that start security_.
I'm inclined to follow dman's advice here to mark the module deprecated in favor of security_review.

VinceW commentedToday I marked this module as obsolete and looking for a new maintainer.
anyone willing to take over or deprecate this module should do as he/she think is best.

checkthelog commentedClosing this. The new module here will not be duplicating functionality from the Security Review module.
