I have checked out the latest version of drupal from cvs. i tried to install a new language Tamil (தமிழ்) and thought of adding the strings for it. but that didnt work. it is coming again to the manage localisation page.

note the difference between the quality of bug reports. It's not that locale you *can* use locale module, it's just the string edit UI that's broken if you'd import .po it would work.
