I just received notice that upgrades are available on one abandoned module (Book Review www.drupal.org/Project/Bookreview) and one dormant one (Acidfree www.drupal.org/Project/Acidfree). Neither of these modules appears to have had any activity on them. (I haven't checked to see whether the files are actually different).

Can anyone explain why these modules have new dates?

There was an issue with the packagaing script as made public in the issue queue (I don't have the link handy) -dev versions of modules were broken and they all had to be repackaged.

Thanks for the information. I read through the related thread you mentioned.

Of course, maybe I should wonder why it is I am using these modules any more.
