I've been going through tutorials on how to install Drupal and create custom themes. Now I have to quote on a job but I really don't have any idea on how long it takes to create a site with say 2 or 3 templates. I know css so I'm happy with how long that takes.

What is the average time it takes people to build a site in Drupal? I'm sure while learning it will take a little longer but it would be nice to have an idea on how long it takes on average.

This totally depends on the depth of the project, features/functionality modules etc.

You really have to create a detailed spec with all this and make each thing a line item to do a proper estimate -

You should try to build one or two Drupal websites in order to know how much time you need to this task. I think it is very subjective. Moreover you should need exactly the details about the new website structure before starting.
