Fixing obnoxious title.

Don't know that this is the modules fault. China is still quite restrictive with reference to the internet.

Moving to support request and leaving open for somoene else to confirm with more information.

sorry , its not the modules fault.. however if you are planning to develop around youku, be aware that it is impossible to view youku from outside of China. I had no idea about this untill it was too late, and now must replan a lot of different things. Just a heads up from within china.

Actually you can view youku in europe, but its barely usable at all. The videos come in with like 10kb/s and need to be preloaded for ours to be viewable in one piece.

Still at least in germany there is no problem viewing the videos.

Just to note that YouKu appears to be accessible from the US, buffering is quite long but not nearly as bad as 10kb/s.

Hi AntiNSA,

I think that's reasonable, personally I agree with you that Youku should not limit the access for users outside China. However, Youku is a public listed company which means they need to make profit. All their ads are targeted to local Chinese market, and in China ads are considered much cheaper while users turned to consume more bandwidth to watch long TV dramas etc. so they cost more. Anyway, it's really nothing to do with China and Chinese in general, Please calm down and don't be so racist.
Regarding to the alternatives you mentioned, please try www.tudou.com, www.56.com and www.ku6.com etc.

Stumbled upon this. @AntiNSA, most internet video providers in China do not allow access or only allow very little access to their content from outside Mainland China, due to the nature of China government's copyright legislation. So please don't blame it on this module. Closing this.
