Drupal supports only MySQL and PostgreSQL engines.
To support FireBird you need to develop FireBird dabase layer like database.mysql.inc or database.pgsql.inc.
Refer to one of these files to know what exactly interface you need to implement. You will also need a PHP FireBird library which your layer will rely on.

One tool called "fullconvert", from spectralcore.com, can migrate MySQL database to Interbase/Firebird in under five minutes, is very easy-to-use. recommend.
