Hi,

I have the video module installed and working fine with every video type except the flash video which utilizes FlowPlayer. When I play the flash video, nothing happens. I get a 403 error page. I have the 'Player.swf' (now called FlowPlayer in its later versions) in the root as directory (as well as the video directory).

Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong? It'd be greatly appreciated if someone who has the Player/FlowPlayer configured and working on their site to detail out the steps involving in configuring it with the video module. To the best of my knowlege the documentation that comes with the module has no mention of uploading the 'Player' in order to play FLV videos.

Thanks

Is your site setup for multisite? Mine is, and I noticed the video modules expects the videos to be in the root directory, and not in the individual's /sites directory. Please post what you discover.

I am playing videos from a directory under the root without problem. It's the FLV videos that I am having a problem with. I have the FlowPlayer/Player upload in root and the videos directory with both names.

Also, in response to the next post, I am using absolute URLs and not relative.

Still no luck.

Maybe if the author of the module is kind enough, he can step in and give some valuable input.

Thanks

Are you using the full path of the .swf file in your link? I recall reading something in the forum a few days back about flash files need to have the fully qualified URL to the file.

Don't know if that's the answer to your problem, but its worth a shot if you haven't already tried that...

are you able to get http://www.yoursite.com/Player.swf ?
or getting 403 on there?

Yes, I am able to see the player at http://mysite.com/Player.swf . It's NOT a 403. However, no FLV movie plays (not even the player is displayed on the page where it's supposed to play the movie.

Also, when trying to play real player files I am getting a distorted/ jumbled up real player. Seems like some HTML formatting issues. It starts to download the update from real.com, but later gives the error no update for the type text/html. Is there a problem with the input type?

Fabio, I see on your demo website, all forms of videos playing. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know :-)

Would you share your website address? Maybe I can understand the problem...

The problem above looks like you have yet to adjust the Admin -> Settings -> Video -> Flash player location setting.
Do that and all should work.

My problem is my 320x240 produces white space on the sides and the video playback looks squeezed on the sides. What is wrong here? Why does flow player squeeze my video dimensions?

Any ideas.
