It would be nice if I could assign more granular permissions for translating to certain roles. For example, I only want our editors to translate taxonomy terms, and don't want to grant them the full "translate interface" permission, with which they can do too much wrong.

I am all for this feature too. I have menus in different languages and will love to hide the menu ítems from the translation table so the translators don't get confused.

Anyone willing to provide a patch for this>???

I'm using Entity translation to translate my taxonomy, so it would be great if it was possible to hide some tabs of translation table which are not used.
