I'm working with a number of clients on Drupal implementations and need to find some additional resources to help with a specific project.

The client is a UK media organisation looking for a system to host web sites for multiple brands. Each brand site will have a blog, links to broadcasters, retailers, Flash games and other general pages. The project/client would be managed by myself but work would be carried out by the developer and designer I'm looking for.

The design and development work may be split. Remote working is possible but meetings in London / Reading will be required. Please supply rates when expressing an interest.

Key Points About the Project:

  • The most likely option for implementation is to develop a Feature or multi-site installation profile. I suspect Domain Access won't work because the site structures may well diverge over time. This will need some discussion.
  • The client is keen on Twitter / Facebook integration so relevant modules will be required as well as (perhaps) some custom views to embed tweets in the sidebars and/or other custom code.
  • The initial build and setup of the platform needs to be done by September. The migration of existing sites will be phased after that.
  • The sites will need to be multi-lingual. Content and structure will need to be localised but the client will translate any required text. Note that some items (e.g. retailers) do not need to be translated but are country-specific whereas more content-heavy pages will need to be translated and are not country-specific.
  • Traffic is not expected to be huge. Sites for these brands are currently hosted on a single server (one server with multiple brands) although the sites are generally not database-driven.

Deliverables

  1. Develop the site (or install profile / Feature) and provide documentation such that competent Drupal developers could roll out new sites
  2. Design a custom theme for the site and provide this theme with a number of colour palettes suitable for use with the various brands. The theme will also require logo design incorporating images of the brands (style guides available).
  3. Set up the site on the server. The server will be new - may be on-site or managed offsite but likely to be Ubuntu-based. This is somewhat flexible.
  4. Work with the client to migrate content from existing sites. This is likely to be limited due to the fact that the current sites are build as single flash movies. We do generally have the Flash source but in most cases it will be a question of recreating content rather than migrating it. You will not be expected to migrate complex content (e.g. extract flash games from current sites).
