I've installed it and there are no errors.

Now, how do I get multiple file uploads on my ImageField? It looks the same as it always did and when I click the "Choose File" button, it still pops up the browser dialog and only lets me choose one image.

Module is unusable without further instructions.

One problem I see is that this module mentions dependencies, but doesn't enforce them.

The problem here is that the module has an either/or dependeny, which is not supported in Drupal 6. The module designer has the choice of either:

  1. Claiming a dependency on both image and imagefile, or
  2. Claiming no dependencies

The designer chose the latter, allowing this module to be installed without any prerequisite module.

This might be a reasonable choice if the documentation clearly pointed this out, but it doesn't. The README.txt mentions the requirement, but fails to clearly indicate that meeting this dependency is the responsibility of the person doing the installation.

I suspect that there are other dependencies not met in my case. I look forward to finding out what they are.

Okay, I found a way to make this usable, but I think I'll look elsewhere for my application. The dependencies mentioned above are red herrings. The actual un-attached dependencies are the two sub-modules of this module:

  1. image_fupload_imagefield and
  2. image_fupload_image

The main page (and the README) for this module needs to clearly point out that (at least) one of the above two modules must be enabled in order to use this module.

Thank you for this usability issue. If you have time, it would be great if you could edit the README and publish it here.

Done. (attached).

I urge you to make corresponding changes to the project page.

I have a small addition for the revised README.txt.

..) Whenever you use the image-module for the first time some of the required directories might not exist or are not configured the way you have in mind. Setup the image-module by visiting http://<your base url goes here>/admin/settings/image, this will also create the required directories based on your settings whenever they don't exist.

Whenever you use the image-module itself for the first time the directories it will use aren't created, just loading the configuration page of the module itself will fix this and displays a message regarding the creation. I don't really have problems with creating directories using my shell or in Dreamweaver, but creating directories might become a bit confusing for the people who are more less known with the ftp etc. And why the hard way if there's a way more simple way? ;-)

(Sorry for the bad English, I'm a bit tired)

@dboeije, I'm wondering how relevant your suggestion is to the Image FUpload module. When the user is setting things up, at what step would the novice user hit the pitfall you're concerned about? What would happen?
