I have Nivo Slider set up and functioning well using Drupal (see http://www.quins.com.au). If you go to another page and then return to the front page the slider images display as a Flash of Unstyled Content. I have spoken with others to find the cause and solution and their response is below:

The javascript that controls the display for that panel is set to run only after the page has finished loading, which is the correct behaviour. The problem is that the images for the panel are not hidden during this load, so until the page has completed and the javascript tidies everything up, the images are always going to show up (which is the bug you are seeing).

The reason this only appears to happen after navigating back to the homepage would be caching. When you first go to the page, the images have to download and the javascript will clean them up before they've finished etc, but after you come back, they are cached and obviously available instantly.

The fix for this is to add the style display:none (inline, NOT in the stylesheet) to all but the first image (or all of them if it's not possible to differentiate) and then have javascript remove the style and show them once it's ready.

My problem is that I am not a coder and do not know how to implement the solution. If someone could assist me I would be most grateful.

I visited your site and I visited a page and clicked back home, and it was normal. Have you repaired it? Thanks

Is there any tutorial available for Drupal 7 combined with Views 3?

Bright Web Design’s picture

Currently both Views3 and NivoSlider are not stable there will be changes in functionality and may be even in appearance. (As you can see the design and layout changes in views3).
Once everything stable and ready for a production site I will definitely create tutorial for Drupal 7 versions.

A basic install of all the modules turns up an error without a theme for the nivo slider being found. There is a directory for the default theme so, I don't know what to do to get it to detect the default theme, let alone install new ones.
I would be happy just to get the default theme to be detected.

Do you know how I could make the nivo slider become a responsive element to work in concert with the Omega theme?

I have been looking into this and if I find a solution I will be glad to post, but +1 in the mean time

Hi Ciril,

Thanks for your YouTube tutorials on Nivo Slider. I did the step by step and the only problem I'm having is that all of my Slider images show at once in a column with no slider effect. I traced the problem to the creation of the block, Under Format: View Nivo Slider, Settings. Here's a link to a screen capture.

You can see that the Block: Style Options menu shows Style=None. No ability to select "Default" here.

I'd appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Fred

Hey there, I'm having the same problem all my images are shown once in one column, fixed images...

Did you fix your problem? and how?

Thanks, Tarek

I had the same trouble--you must add the jquery plugin to sites/all/libraries or yoursite/libraries.
