I have a problem with manually designed and entered spam, primarily from India, occasionally from China, the US, and other countries. Apparently there are some people who spam manually to circumvent spam bot barriers like CAPTCHA.
The purpose of these spam postings is always to lodge links, mostly just one, sometimes many links in the same posting.
One of the most effective measures would be to compare the links in new postings to links that are already known to be used in spam. The idea is, if a few Drupal administrators have found a posting containing a certain link and identify this posting as spam, then all other Drupal sites should be able to block postings containing that link automatically.
If a list of spam links exists anywhere in the world, please use it. If not, create one by allowing Drupal administrators to send in spam links. This should be very quick and easy for the Drupal administrator, like clicking on a button.
Ideally a central list of spam links should keep a counter for each link, indicating how often it has been reported by a web site administrator, and perhaps a second counter indicating how often it has been queried to delete a spam posting.
