Hi, I would like to establish private blogs for students whereby only the instructor has access to the blog. So far, I am unable to make any blog priviate because I can't alter the settings for the anonymous user. Any ideas as to how to go about this?

The simple way is to use the path access module - set it up so that anonymous users cannot read paths blog, blog/*

a more complex method would be to use taxonomy access - got no idea how as it never worked properly for me :)

There are several modules which would suit your purpose, I can't find the exact one i've used before but here's one which might help http://drupal.org/project/content_moderator. Good Luck,
