The latest version is working well for me with CKEditor (standalone), but I've gotten to thinking. It helped me to edit the plugin.js code to offer my users a more descriptive tool-tip label for Linkit ("Link to an internal page") to distinguish it from the existing Image and Link buttons (though I would like to find a way to change the tooltip for Link to "Link to URL or file" to complement what I did with Linkit.

Is there any way to further simplify toolbars by integrating the Linkit functionality into the IMCE-based link/browse popup dialog? Ideally, I would like my users to be able to use the same button to insert links whether to internal nodes/views/users, uploaded files, or external URLs, though it wouldn't have to be through the same text field within that dialog. For example, that Link popup has a field for URLs with a separate button to browse the file system.

I agree, IMCE button in linkit would be perfect.
