In a similar way to the block visibility it would be fantastic if we could specify when the cufon fonts (JS) should be added to the page. This would be especially useful when working with multiple fonts in order to reduce the overall page load time (and size).

I agree. I use multisite drupal installation and the font libraries are shared across different sites...
I see all the fonts loaded in each site when I only use one font.

This is done in 7.x but I don't have time to backport it.
