I would be really useful, if one could define multiple image content types with the image modul.

So that the different content types can be used for different things.

just to make an example, one could use taxonomy_defaults.module to assign each image to a specific gallery without user interaction. Or make images attached with image_attach.module separated from the ones attached with default image or with image_gallery.
