Hierarchy displayed in reverse on node creation form

hi there. i need some help getting this. I've configured a HS node ref on a form thus

Content type :
Sector
node reference: Sub sector

Content type:
Employer
HS node reference select : Sector>>Subsector

however, on the node creation form for this and other configs, i get

Subsector>> Sector

I have checked my field settings a bunch of times so i'm pretty sure i havent screwed up the field settings.

I'll appreciate some help with this. Thanks
