I recently noticed an update to the HeaderImage 6.x-dev version of this module, but on inspecting the code, it looks like the only thing that was modified was the timestamp. The last 6.x-dev release prior to this "update" was 2009-Apr-14. It's about time that you create a 6.x-1.0 version.

I've been using this module since June 2009 on a 6.x site that has 100,000 hits a day, and it works just fine. So I can definitely say it is production ready!

Is this module still being maintained? Does it need a new owner? Will there eventually be a port to 7.x when D7 is released?

And of course... thanks for the great work that you've put into this project!

Hi Linxor, from the state of the issue queue you can see that I have not spend a lot of time on maintaining this module. Currently I have no plans to port the module to D7. If you are interested in maintaining the module, let me know.

Hi Sutharsan,

Is there any other way to replicate what this module does? Any module combinations? Closest thing I have seen is the context module. I think you mentioned integrating somehow with the context module? Seems to me headerimage is really unique in what it does and can be used for more than just header images. Basically it ties nodes to blocks and allows for page visibility to be assigned on node page and the block settings.

The way I was planning to use it is for a top rotating banner on all pages. I would create a banner content type with a cck image field and set the condition on which pages I want to show the rotating banner on. Then place the block in the header region and your good to go. Need a new set of rotating banner images, just create a new banner node and set the conditions. Since they are just nodes, I can delegate that to another person to administer, like a graphic designer.

Anyways, thanks for the module. Hope you don't give up on it.

Yes, it would be good to get a 1.x release that was not branded "dev" just for appearances.
