Designs for library and wysiwyg

Cross linking #491258: Create issues for UI decisions reached, but not yet implemented. I'm hoping what's been figured out in that issue, and the designs here are mostly compatible. Where they aren't, let's figure out how to reconcile them.

Are these mockups still being considered for the upcoming Media 2.x sprint? In any case here's some feedback:

• Using a folder structure strikes me as a strange choice as the underlying files are not organized into an actual folder structure. What about listing categories or tags? Files can have taxonomy reference fields so this would make sense. That said the vocabularies (if any) would vary between sites so it wouldn't be possible to set a default in the media gallery view.
• Delete is the only option listed on the select multiple page. This lines up with present functionality but still strikes me as odd. What about designing for other actions that might pop up in the future? Examples operations would be "edit multiple", "create derivatives" and "add tag". To be consistent with the rest of Drupal the operations should be in a drop down menu
• Why is there an option to change a files extension? Seems like a real edge case to cater for here.
• Big +1 to tabs or filters based on file type. My guess is that this will be the most used filter.
• On the topic of filter, what about filters based on uploading user or file usage?
• 14_add_multiple.jpg - it isn't clear which files are already cued for uploading vs. what you are selecting now. Files already selected could be show above the upload selector but with a remove link beside them to make the relationship clear.

Overall very good work here! These mockups provide a solid spec to strive for.

A status update please?

Would be great to consider Instant filter for the search widget.

here are some sadly pixelated versions of the old #D7UX mockups that I found on an old slideshow. Attaching them to this issue so they won't be lost. I think there is still some value in them. The originals were from mverbaar; may be he still has a copy of them somewhere.

I'm closing this issue as the original mockups are nearly two years old and there is no remaining "task".

If some of the ideas from the original mockups need to be implemented then they should be spun off as separate tasks with their own issues.

Re-opening, it doesn't seem very wise to close an issue because there are no "actionable parts" its for the community to create those.

All of the "actionable parts" of this issue have now been filed:
