hello,

listing the most popular/ today's content from the site easily done with views module... but how do i list the most commented content/ node with some statistics on each? anyone with idea please share...

You can use views, create a node view, apply the filter "Node: Comment count" mark it has greater then 0, then in the sort criteria use the "Node: Comment count" option again and make it ascending. You can now add the fields you see fit and create a block with that view.
