Hi,
I opened up a new feature request followed by this issue http://drupal.org/node/865774.
a situation like this.
if a user not a member to a group and if he clicks on the group, still the group shouts are visible, which are posted by group members, cant we make it hidden until the user becomes member of that group..?
so without joining the group any user can see whats going on in that group!
the shouts should be private.so that non member should not see any content related to the group until user join's the group
this feature is really needed, or any alternate solution.?

Nitesh Singh commentedYes you can hide your post of group to non members. There is a setting in Organic groups access configuration under this there is visibility settings of post.
Thanks and regards

madhusudan commentedHi Nitesh,
I tried that also.. by choosing below options.. in Organic groups access configuration
"Visibility chosen by author/editor using a checkbox on the posting form. Checkbox defaults to private."
also tried with
"Visible only within the targeted groups."
although blog posts are not seen ,but displays shouts..

Nitesh Singh commentedyou mean post's are not visible to non members? But shouts are visible to non members ?And what is shouts?
madhusudan commentedyes Nitesh, post's are not visible to non members, But shouts are visible to non members,
shouts are the messages/posts which are in shoutbox..

Nitesh Singh commentedAre u talking about shoutbox module http://drupal.org/project/shoutbox ....you can only set permissions according to role ....because it is not a module related to organic group....so may be you cant not set permissions according to group members n non group members....
madhusudan commentedYes Nitesh, that shoutbox only I am talking about , but has OG Shoutbox part also, which is related to organic groups.
and yes it can be done using roles, but imagine if we have 50 groups, then for each and every group i have to create one role..
ending up in long listing,
instead in shoutbox admin settings we can do it by just putting one option.
