Drupal or Wordpress integrated with cakephp

Could somebody please tell me if Drupal would be a better fit than Wordpress for the following task:

Case:a financial magazine that will cover at least 120 listed companies. Every company needs a page with a profile, financial data and latest articles. In the future we will add charts and stock quotes as well.

I have seen this wordpress site (http://etfdb.com/etf/EEM/) that does what we want. Somebody suggested using wordpress and cakephp for these profile pages.

How could this be achieved within Drupal ? is it just a matter of custom fields and the view module ?

Am I crazy to use wordpress ?

Thanks in advance,

mark.

Go Drupal

I use Wordpress for a lot of stuff. My quip is "If Drupal will do what you want out of the box, you're probably better off using something else".

Dries, the found of Drupal has what he calls the Okham's Razor of CMS:"Given two functionally equivalent content management systems, the simplest one should be selected."

So when I think Drupal rules is when you have complex data with complex presentation. There *nothing* that I have found that has anything as good as Drupal CCK and Views.

You might even throw Panels into your mix

Or just theme your CCK fields and Views. In any case, with Drupal, you're most of the way to what you want just by adding in a few modules. I say "just" but that should be taken with skepticism - not only is there an entire book on Drupal views, there is an entire book about one type Views of display - Attachment Views. So saying that you'll "just" need to install modules and not do a lot of custom coding is my way to underscore the power of drupal, not the ease of the task!
