Digifreedom.net: is it Done Right?
MarcoFF. - September 30, 2006 - 14:59
Hello,
some days ago I launched the Family Guide to Digital Freedom. Any feedback on how the site is set up is welcome, but there is one thing on which I'd really like specific inputs from fellow Drupal webmasters.
Please read the Website Done Right page; it contains my ideas on how a good website should be made. However, being almost a novice with Drupal, I am aware that even my own website isn't Done Right (in that sense) yet. For example, the printed versions of each page should have no side bar. How should I modify the template and/or css stylesheet to do that?
Any other pointer to how to make the website fully compliant with that definition is very welcome.
TIA,
Marco

contact form?
The site's look is clean, but why don't you use the contact module for the "cotact us" page?
because I haven't looked
because I haven't looked into it yet, I probably disabled it out of excess caution, and then forgot or didn't care to put it back because, right now, an email address is enough.
hmmm, since you'r e-mail
hmmm, since your e-mail address isn't in a "clickable" form, I think that is a barrier to having people contact you.
If not the contact modufle, you might consider at least using one of these to make your e-mail address clickable but obscure it from spammers:

Also, here's a site for your black list: http://www.princetonboro.org/
It uses frames, and the side menu is broken (except maybe in IE), and the calender is hosted on a slow or broken external site.

I agree, but I couldn't do everything at once. It is my intention to fix that and also open comments to all the pages, once I've studied well how to avoid spam

Thanks a lot! Since you mentioned it, I'll dare to mention that I'd also need to receive as much information as possible on digitally free schools, bad public websites (see"Activism" section) and the letter to mothers and teachers: privately, of course, no need to use this forum for that.
Thanks in advance to everybody who will help me by passing along these requests for information, especially outside the FOSS community.
Ciao,
Marco
