I'd love to see Drush integration with this. It really would take some burden off this app because Drush can handle things this app probably never will. Could be a very useful addition!

jchatard commentedHi Rob_Feature,
Can you clarify what you have on your mind, because honestly I really don't get the point. Drush is shell tool that runs commands from the command line. Drupad is on the HTTP side.

stephenrobinson commentedIt does useful things, like you can type drush update and it will take care of updating all your contrib modules and removes all the old files for you, saving you loads of time, you can also build shell scripts to completely build whole drupal installations from scratch (adding contrib modules and features) from a shell script rather than hours of work manually...

jchatard commentedOh, I do know what Drush does or can handle. Actually I use it all day long :-)
The thing I don't understand is what would be the benefit of running Drush things from Drupad and more than that is this reliable, because since Drush is a CLI command, it doesn't have to deal with HTTP servers constraints like timeout, system permissions, executing other programs, whatever.

Rob_Feature commentedI guess, personally, I'd love to see Drupad become an 'all in one' site management tool. What I hear you saying is that, right now, it's not intended to be that (which is just fine), but as a site administrator, I'd love to be able to launch Drupad and have a wide range of options for interfacing with the site's backend. If that's not possible, that's cool, but it would be nice to have a single tool to do everything possible from my pocket. :)

jchatard commentedWell I don't mean this is impossible! Nor not what I want. Of course I want to add features that let site administrator do most of what is possible. Maybe I'm too focused on Drush in your request.
Because if we want to add Drush support (in a way I understand it) that would require that Drupad application would connect through SSH for example to the server, knowing where in the filesystem your current Drupal instance is, and execute commands, like Drush ones.
Is this what you mean?

Rob_Feature commentedSure, I could see this being an option when creating a site bookmark: add login accounts for http or ssh (and ideally, both!) into a site's settings...then you get tools based on which way you're logged in. Sure, it's dreaming big, but it sure would be cool!

jchatard commentedYeah, definitively BIG dream :-)
But, big dreams, bring big success!
I now leaving for holidays, will think of it while on the italian beach. And will come back with thousands of ideas.
