I have noticed one thing that i think Drupal needs if it has not already been done.

When you change your password i think an email sent to that new email address to get them to confirm that it is a real email and not just someone signing up and then change their email and start spamming the site as you would not be able to ban them if the email was fake!

if one does exists please advise what it is called or better still a link.

I don't know if there is already what U ask for, but the "init" field in the "user" table stores the initial email address.
