Never lets anyone invite, says the invite limit is reached

How can I just remove the limit?
Something's wrong and only one particular special group got to send invites, while all others can't. When they try to send even one, they get a message that they reached the maximum. Which is not right, because I've set the limit to "unlimited" for all groups...
Any ideas?

Basically, how can I simply remove the limit? Cause choosing "unlimited" doesn't do it...

Did you have 2.0-alpha1 (or some old development version) installed before? Then it should be a matter of running update.php.
