forum category view--column sizes?

Has anyone else noticed that when you click on a category in a Drupal forum and view the resulting list, that while the TOPIC column will resize according to width, neither the CREATED column nor the LAST REPLY column will?

It seems like the display is refusing to wrap the text on the author names. At small widths, this creates VERY strange-looking rows, as long titled forum topics wrap around and around, while the two-line Created and Reply rows stay the same.

Is there a way to designate that these rows too can wrap the text within them? It seems like this should be easy, but my head hurts from hitting it against the wall on this.

Any thoughts?
