This module pretends to assume OG integration, but I have a problem using it within groups.

When searching from a group, the user gets any relevant content he has access to regardless the group context he is in.
In addition, the group context is lost.

OG integration has been moved to the Apache Solr Organic Groups Integration module. See #579402: Group specific search block for this issue (which you have already found).
